I am always looking for interesting top to wear with jeans.
I love jeans, but being a stay at home mum I end up wearing jeans and t-shirts most of the time, and I must admit most of my wardrobe is black or white. So when I find a great top with a bit of detail to throw on when I leave the house I grab it.
This French Connection top is great. Small and subtle print, simple cut and beautiful detail on the arm bangs and neckline make this a great top to pop on with jeans. Subsequently this would be great with a corporate suite, or with a cute pair of shorts in summer.

The Little Black Dress - French Connection
I am a little testy, mostly due to being 11 days off my due date and dealing with being immensely hot (and in the heat sense, not the I'm so gorgeous sense - unless of course you have a thing for hugely pregnant, short, grumpy women that is), head achy and generally feeling very unwell. So what do I do to cheer myself up a little?
Well, generally I am sorry to say, when I am having a bad day I always turn to retail therapy. Not good, but I can be pretty happy just buying a $2 pair of earrings when I am in that state, so we are not talking shopping addiction - no one set up an intervention! However being hugely pregnant means not only can I not shop for clothes, but my back and tummy have put a stop for me wandering around the shops for more then 15 minutes.
However I have an online shop to shop for so, problem solved. On my searches today I found some gorgeous new French Connection dresses in particular. I really love the Little Black Dress (featured at the top). The legs present a bit of a problem for me as mine are about half the models length, but we can work through that. Very cute take on the shirt dress, and great for the coming Autumn months.
We are also loving this Blazer. We have seen a lot of the jeans, t-shirt, blazer action of late in the Celeb Mags, and I love the casual look with a slight tailored feel. Smart and Chic I will be following this trend as the cold creeps in.

French Connection Casual Chic
I unfortunately don't get out much at night and due to that I find it hard to spend to much money on evening wear because I know it is such a long time between drinks so to speak. However I am not opposed to spending money on my casual clothes. I am a clothes horse, I love fashion, and I am not one to wear the same outfit for years on end. Clothing that suits me makes me feel happy when I put it on. It may sound shallow, but I will own that. It is just like putting on a spray of perfume in the morning, it is just one little thing to lift the spirits, and if that is going to enhance your day - why not? We have one life to live people, let's do all we can to make it fun!
However that is not to say I spend A LOT on my casual clothes. I have a range with everything from the very discount department stores up to well known designer brands. I love French Connection for their casual range. Whilst a little more expensive then the average (but not by much) they last really well and have a very timeless feel. But they are a little unique and that is what I want for my day to day clothes - still wearable, still comfortable, but I am not going to pass 15 people in the street wearing the same thing.
I love the Dandy Voile top by French Connection for just this reason. This little top would go with jeans, shorts or a cute skirt, and the sleeves make it a bit of something special. A great white shirt is hard to pass up, but the sleeve ruffle really give it a feminine edge. Another favourite is the Candy Stripe Ruffle sleeve dress by French Connection. Hmmm, when I'm not pregnant......... Until then I have to be content with my limited maternity wardrobe. Oh well - 13 weeks to go.

French Connection

French Connection - synonymous with a nice relaxed style which can be likened to Country Road. If you are looking for a stylish clothing line with clean lines, classic colour combinations and feminine well-fitting styles French Connection is the brand for you.
Many of the French Connection pieces will make up a good staple wardrobe for you, just leaving you to add a few dramatic key pieces each season. Although French Connection is considered pricey the quality is excellent with pieces being able to be worn year after year and still maintain their colour and shape. French Connection has been likened to Marc & Marc, just less expensive.
At Shimi we have the cutest French Connection dresses this season, some cool and comfortable, some with a little more of a tailored look for those that need a more work orientated wardrobe. Fabulous print summer frocks, shirt-waister dresses and shift dresses make up the collection at Shimi this year, with a couple of cute shorts thrown in.
Whilst many of the styles this year may be a little short for those of us that prefer not to show off their legs (hands up here) Shimi have a couple of gorgeous knee length dresses (Miami Palm Dress) that would suit most figures.

Our personal favourite is the Candy Stripe Dress available for $168US (you can purchase this dress directly from French Connection of $199AU). Look out for the likes of Taylor Swift, Emma Watson, Kourtney Kardasian and Cat Deely wearing French Connection!!
