Winter warmers

I (much to my waist line's dismay) love puddings.  I am sure so many people out there have the same story but warm winter puddings remind me of my beautiful grandmother.  Any time we had a family dinner with her which was at least once a week, she made a beautiful pudding for dessert.  Baked custard, apple crumble, apply pie,  YUM.  Not to mention all the delicious homemade biscuits she always had in her cupboard.

So when I was sitting down having a relax looking at my daily reads I got very sentimental when I read Ada and Darcy's latest post http://adaanddarcy.blogspot.com/2011/07/pear-and-raspberry-crumble-tart.html

So today's post is all about our Granny's and what makes us think of them.

My Gran always was seated with either her knitting or her crochet hook.
Love these little gems from Vaavoom.

She was always drinking tea out of a lovely teacup.

Hmmmm, I miss her.

Brooches - too cute.

I have just recently become a brooch wearer.

My beautiful Gran had many because every day she would wonder down to town dressed up in her sundress, stockings, hat and always, always a scarf with a brooch in it.  It seems way to much work for me these days, but I always remember what an effort she made just to wander around the two local streets that was her town.

However I just bought a very cute cardigan but it needs a brooch to hold the front flaps together.  I have a couple of my Gran's old brooches but they are very ornate.  Beautiful though.

I really like this elephant brooch.  It is fun.  Cute colours too.
